A qualified accountant opportunity leading financial reporting, controls, compliance, and transactional finance within a large, complex organisation.

You'll drive month-end reporting, statutory accounts, VAT compliance, and finance transformation while partnering with senior stakeholders across the business.

Description

• Lead month-end and year-end reporting processes
• Maintain ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and financial control accounts
• Oversee VAT compliance, returns, and HMRC requirements
• Support statutory accounts preparation and external audits
• Provide technical accounting expertise across the finance team
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
• Support treasury management and cashflow forecasting
• Drive improvements to financial processes, controls, and reporting
• Lead, coach, and develop finance team members
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation

Profile

We're looking for a technically strong finance professional who combines accounting expertise with strong leadership skills.

You will ideally have:

• ACA or ACCA qualification
• Significant experience within a financial accounting environment
• Strong knowledge of statutory reporting and financial controls
• Experience managing complex balance sheet reconciliations
• A proven background in VAT compliance and reporting
• Previous leadership experience within finance teams
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• The ability to influence stakeholders and drive continuous improvement

Experience within a large, complex organisation is essential, while exposure to ERP systems and the not-for-profit sector would be advantageous.
