We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Accountant to lead the development, optimisation, and governance of a finance systems environment centred around NetSuite Financials and associated reporting tools.

A not-for-profit organisation based in Birmingham, dedicated to creating positive change in the community.

Description

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will:

  • Lead the day-to-day development and optimisation of NetSuite Financials.
  • Act as the organisation's finance systems subject matter expert.
  • Drive finance systems improvements, automation, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain financial reporting, dashboards, and management information.
  • Ensure robust governance, financial controls, and data integrity across finance systems.
  • Monitor integrations and troubleshoot system issues.
  • Deliver training, guidance, and support to users across the organisation.
  • Supervise and develop a junior member of the finance team.
  • Collaborate with Finance, IT, operational teams, and external software providers to deliver continuous improvement.


Profile

  • Significant experience in developing finance systems
  • Ideally expertise in NetSuite or another ERP finance system.
  • Proven experience delivering finance systems enhancements
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting, management accounting, and financial controls.
  • Experience improving processes, reporting, and system functionality.
  • Ideally experience within the charity, public sector, housing, healthcare, or not-for-profit sectors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
  • The confidence to influence and engage with both finance and non-finance colleagues.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • A collaborative leadership style with experience supporting and developing others.


Job Offer

  • Salary ranging from £63,000 to £66,000, dependent on the level of experience.
  • Pension scheme included.
  • 12 month Fixed-term contract opportunity in Birmingham.
  • DBS check required
