Aspire People are seeking a confident and enthusiastic Nasheed Teacher to work with pupils at a secondary school in Perry Barr, Birmingham.
The school is looking for someone who can deliver engaging vocal-based Islamic music sessions, helping pupils develop their singing, rhythm, confidence and performance skills. Teaching should be appropriate to the school's Islamic ethos, with a focus on Nasheeds and voice-led performance.
The role will include planning and delivering engaging Nasheed lessons, teaching vocal technique, rhythm, harmony and group performance, and preparing pupils for assemblies, school events and performances.
You will encourage participation from pupils of different abilities, maintain a positive and well-managed classroom and support the wider Islamic values and ethos of the school.
The successful candidate should have experience teaching Nasheeds, Islamic vocal music or a closely related subject, alongside strong vocal and performance skills.
You should be confident leading groups of secondary-aged pupils, have good classroom and behaviour management skills and have an understanding of and respect for an Islamic school environment.
Formal teaching qualifications are desirable but not essential. Applications are welcomed from experienced Nasheed performers, vocal coaches, community teachers and individuals with relevant school-based experience.
You will require an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one through Aspire People.
