An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Further Education leader to join a large and ambitious college group as Faculty Head - English & Maths.

This senior leadership role offers the opportunity to shape and drive the strategic direction of English and Mathematics provision across a substantial curriculum area. You will be responsible for leading quality improvement, driving learner achievement, supporting curriculum innovation and ensuring outstanding educational experiences for students.

Working closely with senior leaders and curriculum managers, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning, improving outcomes and supporting organisational success.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for English and Maths curriculum provision.
• Drive improvements in attendance, achievement, retention and progression.
• Lead curriculum planning, growth and development initiatives.
• Monitor performance data and implement targeted quality improvement strategies.
• Lead and develop curriculum managers, teachers and wider faculty teams.
• Manage faculty budgets and resources effectively.
• Oversee Self-Assessment Reports (SARs) and Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs).
• Ensure compliance with funding, awarding body and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to organisational strategy as a key member of the leadership team.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• Significant leadership experience within Further Education.
• A strong track record of improving English and/or Maths outcomes.
• Experience leading quality improvement and curriculum development initiatives.
• Proven ability to manage and motivate large teams.
• Strong understanding of FE funding, compliance and performance measures.
• Experience of SAR, QIP and inspection preparation processes.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
• A degree-level qualification and recognised teaching qualification.
