HVAC FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER - ROLLING STOCK
Location: UK-wide - ideally Midlands, but candidates from across the UK will be considered
Salary: £45,000+ per annum + extensive overtime
Hours: 40 hours per week + regular overtime
Employment Type: Permanent
Travel: UK-wide, with regular lodging away from home
THE ROLE
We are currently recruiting for an HVAC Field Service Engineer to join an established team working across the UK rail industry.
This is a hands-on field-based role focused on the maintenance, fault finding, servicing and repair of HVAC systems across a range of rolling stock.
You will work on a variety of rail vehicles and projects, including Class 158s, Class 174s, Mark 4s and other rolling stock.
The role involves extensive UK-wide travel, with a significant amount of lodging away from home.
The standard working week is 40 hours, with excellent opportunities for overtime. Engineers are currently averaging around 10 hours of overtime per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on rolling stock HVAC systems
Fault finding and diagnosing HVAC issues
Servicing, repairing and replacing HVAC components
Carrying out modifications and maintenance work on rail vehicles
Working safely and efficiently at customer sites across the UK
Completing maintenance documentation and reports
Supporting a variety of rolling stock projects
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for an experienced HVAC Engineer who can hit the ground running from day one.
You must have considerable hands-on HVAC experience and be confident carrying out fault finding, maintenance, servicing and repairs with minimal training or supervision.
Essential:
Considerable previous HVAC engineering experience
Strong hands-on fault-finding and maintenance skills
Ability to hit the ground running with minimal training
Willingness to travel extensively across the UK
Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
Previous rolling stock experience
Level 3 qualification in HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Experience working on rail HVAC systems
Experience with train air conditioning and heating systems
Previous maintenance experience within a transport, rail or heavy engineering environment
