Junior Assistant – French or German Speaker
Location: Birmingham – 5 days in office
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm (1-hour lunch)
Pay: £16.00ph including holiday pay (£13.83ph + holiday pay)
Assignment: 6-month temporary contract with potential to go permanent
Tay Associates, a specialist Secretarial & Business Support Recruitment Agency, is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a globally renowned financial services organisation for a Junior Assistant to join their high-performing team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, proactive and highly organised individual to provide administrative support to 20 Junior Bankers at Analyst, Associate and Junior VP level. You’ll be working in a fast-paced, demanding environment where no two days are the same. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
The Role
- Diary and calendar management for senior bankers
- Coordinating meetings and conference calls across multiple time zones
- Managing high-volume emails and telephone calls
- Coordinating meeting rooms, travel, visas, flights, accommodation and car bookings
- Expense management and invoice processing
- Supporting multiple teams with day-to-day queries and ad hoc tasks
- Providing holiday and telephone cover for colleagues
- Managing competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism
About You
We’re looking for someone who is hungry to succeed, takes initiative and thrives in a high-pressure environment.
You’ll ideally have:
- Strong French or German language skills – ESSENTIAL
- Previous administration, customer service, coordination or business support experience
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to manage a high-volume workload and competing deadlines
- Confidence communicating with people at all levels
- A proactive, resourceful and solutions-focused approach
- Discretion when handling confidential information
- A flexible “can-do, muck-in” attitude
