A highly respected and complex organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Tax to lead its tax function through an exciting period of growth, diversification and strategic development. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will act as the organisation's tax expert, influencing senior stakeholders and ensuring tax strategy supports long-term organisational objectives.

With ambitious long-term growth plans and increasing operational complexity, the organisation is investing in its finance leadership capability and is seeking a strategic tax leader who can drive value, manage risk and support future expansion
Description
- Develop and implement a comprehensive tax strategy aligned to long-term organisational objectives.
- Take ownership of all direct, indirect and employment tax matters across the organisation and its subsidiaries.
- Provide strategic tax input on major UK and international projects, acquisitions, commercial initiatives and new business activities.
- Lead tax planning initiatives to optimise tax efficiency whilst maintaining full compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact with HMRC and overseas tax authorities, managing audits, enquiries and ongoing relationships.
- Advise executive leadership on tax risk, opportunity and the impact of legislative change.
- Oversee all tax reporting and compliance obligations, including corporate tax, VAT and international filings.
Profile
A successful Head of Tax should have:
- Professionally qualified tax specialist, ideally CTA qualified, or possessing equivalent experience.
- Significant experience providing tax advice within a large, complex organisation or professional practice environment.
- Strong technical expertise across indirect tax, with broader exposure to corporate and employment taxes.
- Experience working with senior leadership teams and influencing strategic decision-making.
- Proven ability to manage relationships with HMRC and external advisers.
- Strong leadership credentials with experience developing teams and driving continuous improvement.
- Commercially minded with excellent problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Job Offer
- Salary ranging from £80,000 to £90,000, dependent on the level of experience. market leading benefits
