As an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of electrical building services designs across a diverse portfolio of projects. Working alongside experienced engineers and wider multidisciplinary teams, you will be involved throughout the project lifecycle from concept design through to completion.Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing electrical building services designs, calculations, specifications and technical drawings.
  • Assisting with the delivery of projects across a range of sectors.
  • Using industry-standard software including Amtech, Dialux/Relux and Revit.
  • Supporting the selection of electrical systems, plant and equipment.
  • Working closely with colleagues across other engineering disciplines.
  • Attending design and project meetings with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Supporting sustainability initiatives and low-carbon design solutions.
  • Monitoring your own project delivery against programme, quality and budget requirements.
  • Undertaking site visits and inspections where required.
  • Continuing your professional development and keeping up to date with emerging technologies and industry developments.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 12 months' experience within a building services design environment following qualification.
  • Experience using software such as Microsoft Office, Dialux/Relux, Amtech and Revit.
  • Knowledge of current Building Regulations and British Standards.
  • An understanding of sustainable building design principles and renewable technologies.
  • Familiarity with BREEAM requirements.
  • Membership of, or aspirations towards membership of, a professional institution such as CIBSE or IET.
  • Any exposure to healthcare projects and HTM guidance would be beneficial but is not essential.
