Long Term Futures is delighted to be working in partnership with a prestigious Independent Boys' Secondary School in Edgbaston to recruit an outstanding Physics Teacher for a full-time maternity cover position.
This role is scheduled to run from January 2027 until November 2027, with the potential for the contract to be extended or even become permanent. Further details regarding the future of the position will be discussed with shortlisted candidates during the interview process.

The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering exceptional Physics lessons and inspiring pupils to achieve academic excellence at both GCSE and A-Level.
About the Role
Working within a successful Science department, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Planning and delivering engaging and challenging Physics lessons to GCSE and A-Level students
- Assessing, monitoring, and tracking pupil progress to ensure outstanding outcomes
- Creating an inspiring classroom environment that encourages curiosity and academic achievement
- Preparing pupils thoroughly for internal assessments and external examinations
- Providing timely and constructive feedback to support continued progress
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain the school's exceptionally high academic standards
- Contributing to the wider life of the department and school where appropriate
The successful candidate will benefit from a well-balanced timetable comprising 39 teaching periods per week, with 9 protected non-contact periods dedicated to planning, preparation, and marking. Each lesson is 40 minutes in duration.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
- Proven experience teaching GCSE and A-Level Physics
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Physics
- Strong classroom management and high expectations of pupil achievement
- Ability to inspire academically able students to reach their full potential
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Committed to maintaining the highest standards of teaching and learning
