My client has an opportunity to join them as a Lead Signalling design engineer in their Rail Infrastructure business where you will direct all activities of the teams to achieve the safe implementation of signalling projects to the customer's specifications and timescales agreed. You will also check the quality of output from the relevant section is to the required standards and target dates are achieved.
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Directing the preparation of technical details, signalling plans, estimates and working drawings for signalling works within the project team to meet laid down timescales and authorised budget constraints
- Carrying out independent checking of Signalling systems as required
- Ensuring the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of design work in order that successful project implementation and future reliability is achieved
- Providing functional support and guidance to the Design Engineer(s) and others within the team on all aspects of Signal Design within allocated projects
- Support forecasting manpower requirements for design work to enable allocation of resources to be made
Candidate Requirements:
- Engineering Degree/HND/HNC qualification
- IRSE Signalling Principles Designer and Signalling Design Verifier Licence
- Strong and effective communication and presentation skills
- Experience in all aspects of design and implementation of Signalling Systems Engineering with focus on preparation and checking of design plans and working details
- Competent in Scheme Plans, LAP, Specifications, SSI Wiring, Fringe Designs and Checking.
- SSI (Westlock) data & Control tables Design/Checking experience will be desirable
- WTS- Westlock trackside system technology knowledge will be advantage.
