Criminal Solicitor (Proceeds of Crime) – Birmingham, 4+ PQE, £55,975 - £63,500. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious lawyer to join a highly specialist prosecution team, handling complex and sensitive criminal and proceeds of crime matters. OVERVIEW:
• You will advise on complex proceeds of crime matters, including asset restraint, confiscation and enforcement linked to serious criminal activity, while working closely with the police and wider Criminal Justice Service partners to review evidence, advise on charging decisions and shape case strategy. This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to provide expert legal input and manage challenging casework within a highly regarded organisation.
• Managing cases through the prosecution process, you will make charging decisions, advise on disclosure and evidential matters, prepare legal documentation and present serious and sensitive cases, with opportunities for advocacy and responsibility for key decisions on bail, pleas and discontinuance.
• The successful candidate will be a UK-qualified Solicitor or Barrister with at least 4 years’ PQE and strong criminal law experience, ideally including exposure to proceeds of crime, asset recovery or financial investigations. You will be confident interpreting and applying legislation and case law, exercising sound judgement and making effective decisions across a varied and complex caseload.
