If you're someone who enjoys structured work, helping people get things right, and taking pride in delivering a *right first time* service, this is a brilliant opportunity to join a vital public-facing service. Hiring for a reputed client, you'll support the smooth running of courts and tribunals through accurate administration, strong customer service, and continuous improvement.
What you'll be doing:
* Prepare papers, files and documents for court, tribunal hearings and meetings
* Draft standard letters, correspondence, minutes, notes, reports and submissions in line with guidelines
* Maintain and update records on an in-house computer system, ensuring accurate data input
* Handle post opening and dispatch, photocopying and filing, and organising meeting rooms and materials
* Carry out clerking duties for civil and family courts and tribunals, ensuring papers are up to date
* Support listing and rota activity, check files, and assist court users with enquiries (face to face, written and telephone)
* Contact relevant parties, schedule and serve documents, and support enforcement processes where required
* Work as part of a team to improve processes using continuous improvement/Lean techniques, contributing to small projects
* Check and verify records, documents and returns against criteria and quality standards
* Produce basic statistical analysis and undertake straightforward financial processing where required
What you'll bring:
* Strong administrative experience and confidence working to guidelines and procedures
* Excellent customer service skills-helpful, polite, prompt and accurate
* The ability to interpret information and make decisions needed to complete tasks
* Solid computer skills to support day-to-day record keeping and data input
* A reliable, flexible approach to work, with your own time managed effectively
* A team mindset, with readiness to escalate complex issues to a team leader or supervisor
Additional information:
* You may have regular contact with court/tribunal users, including members of the judiciary and the legal profession
* There may be occasional flexibility to work at other local offices as needed
