A growing M&E contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to take ownership of the mechanical package on a project in Birmingham.
Operating across the commercial, residential, education, healthcare and industrial sectors, the company delivers complete mechanical and electrical building services packages for leading construction contractors throughout the UK. Due to continued growth and a strong order book, they are seeking an individual capable of managing site operations, coordinating subcontractors and driving successful project delivery through to completion.
This opportunity is available on either a permanent or freelance basis. For freelance professionals, the role is expected to be long-term with the potential for further projects thereafter.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of the mechanical package, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing all mechanical installation activities on site
- Coordinating mechanical subcontractors and specialist suppliers
- Driving programme delivery and monitoring progress against key milestones
- Attending site meetings and liaising with the main contractor and project team
- Managing health and safety compliance across the mechanical works
- Ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout installation and commissioning
- Identifying and resolving technical and logistical site issues
- Supporting testing, commissioning and handover activities
- Providing regular progress updates to the project team
Requirements
- Previous experience managing mechanical building services packages
- Background within HVAC, pipework, public health or mechanical building services
- Experience delivering projects within commercial, residential, mixed-use, healthcare, education or similar sectors
- Ability to coordinate subcontractors and manage programme deadlines
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- SMSTS preferred
- CSCS Card
- Relevant mechanical trade or engineering background advantageous
