As a group, we specialise in supporting Children and Young people with a wide range of support areas relating to health diagnosis and behavioural, emotional and social difficulties and we are currently looking to grow our Residential Support Worker team within our Transitional Young People’s service 16-24 based in Birmingham..

We are looking for someone who

  • Is caring, compassionate and able to build positive relationships with others.
  • Has the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.

Previous experience is essential for this role.

What will I do as a Residential Support Worker?

You will allow our young people to experience childhood/adolescence, build self-esteem and accept themselves, helping their journey into adulthood.

  • You will help facilitate activities and appointments, supporting our Young People in all aspects of their lives. You will ensure their health and wellbeing needs are met whilst safeguarding them at all times.
  • You will meet a variety of young people, some of whom may require high levels of supervision and support.
  • You will support the wider team and our Young People with a range of domestic tasks such as cleaning, cooking, and food shopping.
  • You will create timetables, manage paperwork and write reports.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate care and support in the home, ensuring their safety and well-being needs are being met.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including support with maintaining tidiness of their rooms and home, meal preparation and meeting personal care to ensure hygiene is met at a high standard.
  • Engage in recreational and educational activities to promote development.
  • Administer medication as required and monitor health conditions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to address individual needs.

You will be working along side an experienced and dedicated staff team.
Working hours are 7.30am - 7:30pm Days or 19.30pm - 07.30am Nights ( 12 hour shifts)
