Male SEN Teaching Assistant - Personal Care
Location: Birmingham / Walsall / Tamworth / Staffordshire
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Employment Type: Day-to-day / Supply / ongoing Longterm
Start Date: Immediate / September
Aspire People are currently recruiting for Male SEN Teaching Assistants to work within specialist SEND schools across Birmingham, Walsall, Tamworth and Staffordshire.
We are looking for caring, patient and resilient Male Teaching Assistants who are confident supporting pupils with additional needs and are comfortable providing personal care where required.
The successful candidate will support pupils within the classroom, working alongside teaching staff to create a safe, positive and engaging learning environment. You may be supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small-group basis, assisting with learning, communication, behaviour and personal development.
The role may include:
Supporting pupils with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, PMLD and complex needs
Providing personal care and supporting pupils with their daily routines
Supporting pupils with challenging or complex behaviours
Working on a 1:1 and small-group basis
Supporting communication and social development
Assisting teachers with classroom activities and learning
Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment
The ideal candidate:
Has previous experience working with children or young people
Has experience within SEND, care, residential, youth work or education
Is confident and comfortable with personal care
Is patient, compassionate and resilient
Can build positive relationships with pupils
Has strong behaviour management skills
Is reliable and available for day-to-day supply work
An Enhanced DBS is required
