Join us as a Business Risk Partner, Transaction Services Commercial & Institutional

  • Partner with senior business leaders to identify, assess, manage and report risk, supporting strategic objectives within risk appetite and a robust control environment
  • You'll provide insight, constructive challenge and practical support across risk appetite, control effectiveness, governance, regulatory change and business transformation
  • Build valuable relationships across the organisation while helping shape a strong, proactive and commercially focused risk culture

What you'll do

In this pivotal role, you'll help drive the effective application of the Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework (EWRMF), enabling activities across Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), risk appetite, control effectiveness, issue management and risk event execution. You'll also support governance activities, providing reporting, escalation and decision-making insight across relevant business and risk forums.
Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you'll promote a practical and commercially focused approach to risk management. We'll look to you to strengthen risk awareness, improve control effectiveness and support better outcomes for customers, colleagues and the business.

Your work will focus on:

  • Building strong relationships across the Three Lines of Defence and specialist teams, enabling effective risk conversations and collaborative problem-solving
  • Maintaining a clear and forward-looking view of the risk profile, connecting themes across controls, issues, events, governance and management information
  • Providing constructive challenge on business activities, products, services and change initiatives to support sustainable growth and customer outcomes
  • Leading or supporting the remediation of risks outside appetite, control weaknesses and audit or regulatory actions, making sure sustainable solutions are implemented
  • Promoting a positive risk culture while driving simplification and continuous improvement across risk and control practices

The skills you'll need

We're looking for someone with significant experience in business risk management, risk partnering, controls, governance or a related financial services discipline. You'll bring strong understanding of the EWRMF and practical experience applying risk appetite, RCSA, control effectiveness, issue management and risk event frameworks. Experience operating within a complex regulated environment, translating policy, regulatory and framework requirements into practical business outcomes and informed risk decisions is also essential.

You'll demonstrate:

  • The ability to identify emerging and interconnected risks, draw insights from risk data and translate complex information into clear business recommendations
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders, providing constructive challenge and building trusted business relationships
  • Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear risk reporting and governance materials
  • A proven track record of simplifying processes and driving continuous improvement across risk management practices
