SEND Teaching Assistant - Perry Barr

Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for your next full-time opportunity?

Aspire People are currently recruiting for a dedicated and adaptable SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Perry Barr area. This is a full-time role, working five days per week, supporting pupils within a specialist SEND provision.

You will be working with Reception and Year 1 pupils, supporting a small group of children with a range of additional needs, primarily Autism (ASC). The provision currently has around seven pupils, although numbers may change as new pupils join throughout the year.

You will work as part of an established team alongside the Class Teacher and another SEND Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will need to be flexible, patient and confident adapting their approach to meet the individual needs of each child.

The role will involve supporting pupils with their learning, communication, social development, engagement and emotional needs. There is no personal care required for this position.

The ideal candidate will:

* Have previous experience supporting children with SEND
* Have a good understanding of Autism and how it can present within a school environment
* Be adaptable and flexible in their approach
* Be patient, nurturing and able to build positive relationships
* Work effectively as part of a team
* Be available to work full-time, five days per week

This role is provisionally available until October half term, with the potential for the placement to continue beyond this date.

If you are an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting young children within a specialist provision, we would love to hear from you!
