Are you an Individual who has a strong desire to help support children and young people to achieve their full potential? We, Academics, are currently seeking motivated SEMH Teaching Assistants to work from September for a range of our specialised education schools primarily based in Birmingham.
This particular position includes supporting young people in Key Stage 3 & 4, the students that are needing support may be looked-after children, display difficult behaviours, have SEN OR SEMH needs.
The Role:
- Providing 1-to-1 or group support for students
- Supporting students gaining the confidence and interest towards education
- Assisting pupils with a range of additional needs which may require personal care
- Work closely with both the SENDCO and teacher to deliver relevant and tailored learning plans
- The role may include assisting with personal care, therefore candidates must be able to support the pupils personal care needs with patience and compassion.
What we are searching for:
We are primarily looking for individuals who model patience, compassion and a nurturing personality. Qualifications and direct experience are not necessary for this specific role, but is an advantage. It would prove highly beneficial to posses prior experience working wit children or young people, especially in Early Years, SEND, or SEMH.
