An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Inventory & Asset Control Manager to join a transformation-focused supply chain function. This is a high-impact role where you'll drive inventory accuracy, strengthen governance, optimise asset utilisation, and deliver improvements that reduce cost, risk, and waste across the business. This is a high-profile interim role for 3-6 months with hybrid working with 3 days per week in the office.
Your new role
As Inventory & Asset Control Manager, you will take ownership of inventory governance, control processes, and asset recovery activities. Working across operational, finance, and supply chain teams, you will ensure stock integrity, improve visibility, and maximise the value of existing assets.Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing and maintaining accurate inventory records across multiple locations and systems
- Developing controls for stock movements, reconciliations, adjustments, and cycle-counting activities
- Leading investigations into inventory discrepancies and implementing corrective actions
- Driving asset recovery, reuse, refurbishment, recycling, and obsolescence programmes
- Prioritising redeployment of existing stock before new purchases are made
- Managing inventory-related risk, compliance, audit requirements, and financial controls
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to improve inventory performance and governance
This role offers the opportunity to shape best practice, improve operational performance, and influence strategic decision-making.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you'll bring:
- Significant experience in inventory control, asset management, or supply chain operations
- Strong knowledge of stock control, reconciliations, audit processes, and root-cause analysis
- Experience managing returns, asset recovery, refurbishment, or obsolescence programmes
- Good understanding of inventory valuation, working capital, and financial controls
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify improvement opportunities
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to work across multiple business functions
- Experience with inventory improvement programmes, asset lifecycle management, or stock governance frameworks would be advantageous.
