NuStaff is recruiting on behalf of a client seeking an Intelligence Support Officer to join their Force Intelligence department. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-focused, analytical professional to play a key role in developing and evaluating police intelligence in support of investigations and critical incidents.

The Role

You'll evaluate information for intelligence potential, interrogate Force and national databases, and support investigations by developing and reporting intelligence findings. You'll work closely with supervisors and other departments to assess threat and risk, contribute to intelligence products, and provide support during major incidents.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating information to determine its intelligence potential
  • Interrogating Force and national databases and systems, including open source research, in line with NCPP guidelines
  • Developing intelligence and initiating appropriate action in response to identified threat and risk
  • Contributing to Tactical Assessments and other intelligence products
  • Proactively and reactively identifying hotspots and crime series
  • Preparing intelligence summaries and subject packages in support of investigations
  • Providing intelligence cell support during major incidents
  • Liaising with departments to support intelligence development
  • Advising on the use of intelligence systems
  • Maintaining computerised and manual records in line with Force policy and Data Protection legislation
  • Complying with NIM, MOPI, GSC, SPF, and CPIA disclosure requirements
What You'll Need

Essential:

  • Awareness of the National Intelligence Model (NIM) and NCPP guidance on the Management of Police Information (MOPI)
  • Strong self-motivation and the ability to use own initiative
  • Proven time management experience, managing competing demands
  • A track record of operating with high standards of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Ability to identify intelligence gaps, with strong research and problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; articulate, methodical, and conscientious
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and partners
  • Experience working both independently and as part of a team, planning and organising to meet objectives

Desirable:

  • Experience working in an intelligence or information-related field
  • Practical knowledge of police intelligence systems
  • Awareness of relevant legislation, including GDPR, the Human Rights Act, and CPIA

Hours & Pay :

  • Monday–Friday, 7am–3pm
  • Pay Rate: £170 per day
  • Ongoing Contract

This role is fully office-based and requires the successful candidate to undergo Management Vetting.
