We are delighted to be working with a highly respected and growing construction business in Birmingham to recruit an experienced Interim Finance Analyst on an initial 3-6 month contract.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Finance Analyst to join a high-performing finance team and play a key role in providing commercial and financial insight across the business.
The RoleAs Interim Finance Analyst, you'll be responsible for supporting the wider finance function with financial analysis, reporting and commercial insight. You'll work closely with both finance and operational stakeholders to understand performance, identify trends and support decision-making.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and analysing monthly financial reports and management information.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
- Analysing variances against budget, forecast and prior periods.
- Providing financial insight to operational and commercial teams.
- Supporting project and contract performance analysis.
- Producing KPI reporting and identifying key business trends.
- Assisting with month-end reporting and financial analysis.
- Supporting cash flow and cost analysis where required.
- Improving reporting processes and helping to drive greater efficiency across the finance function.
- Working closely with stakeholders across the business to provide clear, commercially focused financial information.
We're looking for an experienced Finance Analyst who is confident working in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment, ideally with experience within construction, property, engineering or another project-based industry.
You'll ideally have:
- Strong financial analysis and management reporting experience.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to manipulate and interpret large datasets.
- Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to translate financial information into meaningful business insight.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with COINS is highly desirable.
- Experience using Anaplan for planning, forecasting or financial modelling is highly desirable.
- The ability to work independently and hit the ground running in an interim environment.
- A proactive approach with the confidence to challenge information and identify opportunities for improvement.
