As a Bank Phlebotomist, you will be offered shifts on an as-needed basis and will have the flexibility to accept assignments that fit your availability.

You will play an important role in delivering a positive patient experience while ensuring the safe and accurate collection of blood samples in accordance with clinical and professional standards.

Location: Various Locations across our Midlands based network.

Contract Offered: Bank / Zero-Hours

Working Hours: There are no guaranteed minimum hours. Shifts will be offered based on operational requirements, and successful candidates can choose whether to accept available assignments. Shifts offered are likely to include busy periods and weekends.

For this position, as you may be in contact with live blood samples, you must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or be able to get it following a successful interview stage.

In line with Care Quality Commission guidelines, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Right to Work Requirement

Please note that this role requires candidates to have the legal right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship at the point of hire. Suitably experienced candidates on a student visa who can work 20 hours per week can also be considered.

What does the Phlebotomist role involve?

This role is responsible for ensuring customers have an excellent experience from the moment they enter our clinic, taking blood samples from both private and corporate clients. This is a varied role that may also include the following responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into our Patient Information Systems (PIS).
  • Demonstrate sensitive communication to ensure client understanding and consent.
  • Maintain accurate records in PIS, uploading all relevant documentation.
  • Represent the company professionally at offsite events and appointments.
  • Engage in upselling and cross-selling at our private health clinic.
  • Proactively drive sales and exceed targets.
  • Help with reception, front of house and other administrative duties.
  • Complete company forms, specimen labelling, and laboratory test order forms accurately.
  • Demonstrate high IT literacy in order to manager various software systems and daily tasks.

Essential criteria:

  • Previous Phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training.
  • Confident using IT programmes.
  • Flexibility with working hours, as required by the business inclusive of evenings and weekends.
  • Flexibility to work from offsite locations at least once per month.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Currently have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
  • Valid UK or Irish driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a private healthcare setting.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • 6 months experience in Phlebotomy.
  • Sales / Retail experience.
