HNF Recruitment Ltd

A great opportunity for an experienced Compressed Air Engineer looking for more than just a service role.

We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a growing and ambitious business, covering customers across the Midlands, Northern England and surrounding areas.

This is a home-based position, giving you the flexibility of working from your own location while travelling directly to customer sites throughout your territory.

If you have solid experience working with industrial compressors, air dryers and compressed air systems, and enjoy being out on the road dealing directly with customers, this could be an excellent opportunity.

The Role

You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance and repair of a range of compressors, compressed air treatment systems and gas generation equipment.

Your work will play a key role in keeping customers' operations running efficiently and minimising costly downtime.

You will also carry out specialist services including:

  • Breathing air quality testing
  • Bacteria testing
  • Compressed air leak surveys
  • Planned preventative maintenance
  • Fault finding and breakdown repairs
  • Installation and commissioning of equipment
  • Providing technical advice and support to customers

You will be dealing directly with customers, so alongside strong technical ability, we are looking for someone who takes pride in delivering a professional and reliable service.

A Role With Scope To Grow

This isn't simply a role where you attend site, complete the job and move on.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help develop and grow the customer base within their area.

If you are commercially minded, enjoy building relationships and can identify opportunities for additional work, servicing or new equipment, there are financial incentives available for helping grow the business in your territory.

This could therefore be an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to take on more responsibility and increase their earning potential as the area develops.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience within the compressed air industry is essential.

We are looking for an engineer who has genuine experience working on industrial compressed air equipment, rather than someone whose experience has been limited to small workshop compressors.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working with compressors and compressed air equipment
  • Experience working on industrial units of 15kW or above
  • Strong knowledge of compressors, air dryers and associated equipment
  • Excellent mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
  • Experience carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs
  • The ability to diagnose faults and work independently
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • A professional and reliable approach
  • The ability to manage your own workload and diary
  • A willingness to travel throughout the Midlands and Northern England
  • A full UK driving licence

English language skills are required.

What You'll Receive

  • Home-based role
  • Company van
  • Company mobile phone
  • Company laptop
  • Specialist tools and equipment
  • Full-time, permanent employment
  • Established and growing business
  • Opportunity to develop your own territory
  • Financial incentives for helping grow the business
  • A varied role with plenty of customer interaction
  • The opportunity to build a long-term career within a growing company

Territory

The role will primarily cover the Midlands, Northern England and surrounding areas.

The exact territory may fluctuate slightly depending on customer requirements, so the successful candidate must be comfortable with regular travel and working across a large geographical area.

Important – Please Read Before Applying

This position requires genuine industrial compressed air experience.

This is not a role for someone whose experience is limited to maintaining a small workshop compressor.

You should have hands-on experience working on industrial compressors and associated compressed air equipment, ideally 15kW+, and be confident diagnosing faults, carrying out servicing and completing repairs independently.

Ready for your next move?

If you're an experienced Compressed Air Engineer who wants a home-based role, a company vehicle, independence, customer contact and the opportunity to increase your earnings by helping grow your territory, we'd love to hear from you.
