The Supply Register is recruiting IT Technicians to work across our partner schools and Multi-Academy Trusts throughout Birmingham.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT professional who enjoys providing technical support in a busy school environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring staff and pupils have access to reliable IT systems and equipment to support teaching and learning.
The RoleAs an IT Technician, you will be responsible for:
Providing first and second-line IT support to staff and students.
Installing, maintaining and troubleshooting hardware, software and network equipment.
Setting up laptops, desktops, tablets, printers and other ICT equipment.
Managing user accounts, passwords and permissions.
Supporting classroom technology, including interactive whiteboards and AV equipment.
Assisting with Microsoft 365, Windows operating systems and school management software.
Maintaining accurate IT asset records and documentation.
Diagnosing and resolving technical issues in a timely manner.
Supporting cyber security and data protection procedures.
Liaising with external IT providers where required.
Previous experience in an IT support or IT Technician role.
Experience working within a school or education setting is desirable but not essential.
Good knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
Experience supporting networks, printers and end-user devices.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach.
Ability to prioritise workloads and work independently.
As this role is within a school, successful applicants must be able to:
Provide a full employment history covering the last 24 months.
Provide a minimum of two employment references covering the last 24 months (three if you have not previously worked with children).
Complete an Employment History Form covering every month from leaving full-time education.
Provide a character reference to cover any gaps in employment. Character referees must be from a recognised professional occupation, have a work email address, have known you for at least three years and must not be a relative.
Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
Provide proof of right to work in the UK.
Provide two proofs of address, proof of National Insurance and any relevant name change documentation.
Provide an overseas police check if you have lived outside the UK for more than six months.
Complete our free mandatory safeguarding and compliance training.
