Job Description:  Residential Children’s Senior Support Worker / Team Leader

Location: Birmingham / Dudley / West Bromwich (In Person)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full-time - 163 hrs 

Salary: £14.25 - £16.00 per hour (Dependent on qualifications and experience) + £70 per sleep-in

Overtime: Paid at time and a quarter above 163 hrs

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker / Team Leader who is confident leading shifts, supporting staff, and building positive, trusting relationships with children. This is a hands-on role where your experience is valued, your voice is heard, and your commitment is recognised.

The Role

  • Lead shifts and support the day-to-day running of the home
  • Create a safe, warm, and structured environment for young people
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with each child
  • Support care planning, key work, risk assessments, and placement plans
  • Supervise staff and promote high standards of care and safeguarding
  • Support education, activities, and independence skills

What You’ll Need

  • NVQ Level 3 for children and young people in residential settings (Required)
  • Experience in a children’s residential setting (Minimum 2 years essential)
  • Senior / Team Leader experience (Desired)
  • Full UK driving license (Desired)
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and Children’s Homes Regulations
  • Flexibility for sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays (Required)
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
  • Work authorisation:  United Kingdom (Required)
