The Opportunity
An established and growing MEP Building Services Consultancy in Birmingham is looking to appoint a Mechanical Engineer to join its dynamic design team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer who is looking to develop their career across a diverse range of projects including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and mixed-use developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and specification of mechanical building services systems including:
- HVAC
- Heating systems
- Ventilation
- Domestic water services
- Public health systems
- Produce calculations, technical reports, and design drawings.
- Work closely with electrical engineers and wider project teams.
- Attend client meetings and site visits where required.
- Support projects from concept through to completion.
- Ensure designs comply with current regulations and industry standards.
- Contribute to delivering projects on time and within budget.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Experience working within an MEP Consultancy or Building Services environment.
- Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and relevant British Standards.
- Experience using industry software such as Hevacomp, IES, Revit, AutoCAD, or similar.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Working towards Chartership (desirable but not essential).
