Management Accountant – First Move from Practice

Salary DOE | Hybrid | Birmingham City Centre

We are currently recruiting for a Management Accountant to join a well-established and fast-growing business based in Birmingham City Centre.

This opportunity is specifically for someone currently working within accountancy practice who is looking to make their first move into industry. You’ll ideally have around 2–3 years’ experience within practice, independently preparing management accounts.

The successful candidate can be part-qualified or qualified and will have the opportunity to take their existing technical accounting experience and develop it further within a commercial finance environment.

As the business continues to grow, we’re looking for someone who is comfortable working at pace and keen to develop with the business over the longer term. There will be plenty of opportunity for the successful individual to broaden their experience, take on more responsibility and progress as the finance function continues to evolve.

You’ll be supporting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including:

• Preparing monthly management accounts
• Posting journals, accruals and prepayments
• Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting with month-end processes
• Producing financial reports and analysis when needed
• Working closely with the wider finance team and stakeholders across the business

Ideally, you will:

• Have around 2–3 years’ experience working within an accountancy practice
• Be confident independently preparing management accounts
• Be part-qualified or qualified in ACCA, ACA or CIMA
• Have strong Excel skills and a good understanding of month-end accounting
