An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Group Financial Controller to join a fast-growing, PE-backed business at a pivotal stage in its development.

With an ambitious growth strategy and M&A forming a significant part of the journey, the business is looking for a commercially minded and technically strong finance leader to work closely with the CFO and play a key role in developing the Group finance function as the organisation continues to scale.

This is much more than a traditional financial control role. Alongside taking ownership of group reporting, controls, audit and statutory requirements, you will have significant exposure to acquisitions, post-deal integration, finance transformation and the PE investors.

You will be joining an evolving finance function, providing a genuine opportunity to make your mark, introduce best practice and build the processes, controls and infrastructure required to support continued growth.

The role will include:

• Ownership of Group financial reporting, consolidation and statutory reporting
• Leading the annual audit process and maintaining a strong financial control environment
• Supporting cash flow, treasury, banking relationships and covenant reporting
• Working closely with the CFO, senior leadership team and PE investors
• Playing a key role in M&A activity and post-acquisition finance integration
• Developing and standardising finance processes across the Group
• Driving improvements across systems, reporting and automation
• Building and developing a high-performing finance team as the business grows

About you:

• You will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with a strong technical accounting background and experience operating within a complex, growing business.
• Previous exposure to M&A, acquisition integration or a buy-and-build environment will be particularly valuable, alongside experience of improving and professionalising finance functions.
• You will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, able to balance the technical requirements of a Group Financial Controller role with the commercial demands of a growing business, and enjoy being hands-on when required.
• Experience within a PE-backed or highly acquisitive business would be a distinct advantage.
