Pastoral Support Mentor - Secondary Schools - #2118212
Prospero Teaching
Prospero Teaching is recruiting Pastoral Support Mentors to work across secondary schools and alternative provisions throughout the Midlands.
This is an ideal opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people who may face barriers to education. You will help pupils improve their engagement, behaviour, attendance, confidence and overall experience within school.
The role may involve one-to-one mentoring, small-group interventions, behaviour support, helping pupils regulate during challenging situations and encouraging positive relationships with education.
You may also work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, SEND departments and safeguarding leads to identify concerns and provide consistent support for individual pupils.
We welcome candidates with experience in school pastoral support, behaviour mentoring, youth work, SEND, SEMH, residential care, family support, mentoring or other roles involving young people.
Applicants should have strong communication and relationship-building skills, a calm and resilient approach and the confidence to establish clear boundaries with secondary-aged pupils.
Experience supporting behaviour, attendance, emotional wellbeing or pupils at risk of disengaging from education is particularly valuable.
You must have the right to work in the UK and hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
Prospero Teaching offers competitive rates of pay, a dedicated Secondary Recruitment Consultant, interview and career support, free access to Prospero Learning including CPD and accredited online training, Team Teach opportunities where applicable, and ongoing support throughout your placement.
To apply, submit an up-to-date CV outlining your relevant experience.
