The Interim Partnership Accountant role provides you with the opportunity to manage partner financial arrangements within a respected LLP environment, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and clear communication with senior stakeholders. You will be at the heart of partner remuneration, capital accounts, tax reserves, and reporting, making a tangible impact on the business while enjoying flexible working opportunities and access to generous pension contributions.

What you'll do:

As an Interim Partnership Accountant, you will play an integral role in overseeing all aspects of partner financial management within a professional services LLP. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve handling complex remuneration structures, processing monthly drawings and quarterly distributions, maintaining accurate capital accounts, administering annuity arrangements, forecasting profit distributions for cashflow planning purposes, coordinating tax payments with HMRC on behalf of partners, liaising with external advisers on tax matters, preparing detailed reports for audits and gender pay gap analysis, supporting business planning activities such as team hires or business changes, contributing to onboarding new partners as well as managing retirements or exits. You will also ensure governance compliance by aligning all processes with the LLP Agreement while safeguarding confidentiality of sensitive data. Success in this role requires meticulous attention to detail when reconciling accounts or preparing financial illustrations for prospective/retiring partners. Your ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly will be essential when acting as a trusted contact for partners or liaising with senior leadership teams. By supporting improvements to systems/processes and maintaining robust documentation/audit trails you will help drive operational excellence across the partnership accounting function.

  • Manage end-to-end partner financial arrangements including remuneration, drawings, capital accounts, tax reserves, and detailed reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance with the LLP Agreement.
  • Calculate and process monthly partner drawings as well as quarterly distributions, supporting annual profit allocation processes in line with internal policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date partner remuneration schedules covering both fixed and performance-related elements, preparing individual statements and summaries for partners.
  • Forecast partner profit distributions and associated tax payments to support cashflow planning and effective communication with partners.
  • Administer partner annuity arrangements by calculating obligations, processing payments, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Oversee partner accounts management by maintaining capital, current, and tax reserve accounts; manage capital contributions, repayments, funding arrangements, and liaise with loan providers.
  • Monitor account balances for compliance with LLP Agreement requirements; oversee reconciliations between schedules and general ledger systems.
  • Coordinate partner tax payment schedules, act as liaison with external tax advisers, support partner tax queries, and provide clear explanations of tax positions to partners and third parties.
  • Prepare detailed partner-related reporting for audit purposes; support year-end processes including audit queries relating to partner balances.
  • Contribute to onboarding new partners (capital setup, drawings initiation, tax briefings), manage retirements/exits (final accounts preparation), issue mortgage reference letters, oversee Gift Aid allocations, and maintain strong audit trails.

What you bring:

  • Extensive experience in partnership accounting within an LLP environment demonstrating deep understanding of partner remuneration structures as well as capital/current account management.
  • Advanced Excel skills coupled with strong financial modelling capability enabling you to deliver accurate forecasts and insightful analyses.
  • High attention to detail supported by proven reconciliation ability ensuring precision across all financial records.
  • Ability to handle confidential/sensitive information responsibly while maintaining credibility in discussions with partners/advisers.
  • Excellent communication skills allowing you to explain complex financial concepts clearly/concisely to senior stakeholders or third parties.
  • Good understanding of UK tax fundamentals relevant to partnership accounting including compliance testing under UK legislation/HMRC requirements.
  • Exposure to partner tax processes/external advisers in multi-entity/jurisdictional environments is desirable but not essential.
  • International/group exposure would be advantageous especially if you have worked across multiple jurisdictions or entities.
  • Knowledge of financial systems such as SAP is preferred though not mandatory; familiarity with system improvements/process enhancements is beneficial.
  • Understanding of LLP agreements/governance frameworks combined with commercial awareness focused on accuracy/risk mitigation.
