Fixed Term Contract until January 2028
Lead Change. Shape Transition. Deliver What Matters.
A unique opportunity has arisen to play a pivotal role in one of the UK's most complex and high-profile government service transitions.
We're looking for an experienced Operations Manager with a passion for business change, operational transformation and stakeholder engagement to help deliver the successful exit of a major national government contract and support the transition into its future operating model.
This isn't about maintaining business as usual.
It's about understanding today's operation, defining tomorrow's, and leading the journey between the two.
Working alongside senior leaders, operational teams and an external migration partner, you'll coordinate multiple workstreams, prepare teams for change and ensure critical operational knowledge, processes and information are successfully transitioned with minimal disruption.
If you thrive in ambiguity, enjoy bringing structure to complex programmes and know how to keep people engaged throughout periods of significant change, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
- Leading operational change activity across a large-scale government contract transition.
- Mapping current and future operating models and identifying operational impacts.
- Coordinating internal departments to ensure readiness for transition.
- Working closely with external migration partners to provide accurate operational information.
- Developing transition plans, governance and reporting.
- Managing risks, dependencies and change impacts.
- Building strong relationships across multiple business functions.
- Supporting operational leaders through periods of uncertainty and change.
- Ensuring business continuity throughout the transition programme.
What we're looking for
You'll probably have experience within business change, operational transformation or programme delivery and enjoy bringing clarity to complex situations.
You'll ideally have experience of:
- Business Change or Operational Change Management
- Large operational transformation programmes
- Complex stakeholder engagement
- Operational readiness and transition planning
- Governance, risk and dependency management
- Cross-functional leadership
- Delivering structured change within regulated or government environments
Previous experience working on government contracts, outsourcing programmes or large-scale service transitions would be highly desirable, although not essential.
You'll be someone who...
- Brings calm and structure during periods of change.
- Is exceptionally organised and methodical.
- Builds credibility quickly with senior stakeholders.
- Can influence without direct authority.
- Keeps people engaged and motivated throughout transformation.
- Enjoys solving complex operational challenges.
- Thrives in collaborative environments.
Why join?
This is an opportunity to help deliver one of the UK's most important humanitarian service transitions.
You'll join at a genuinely pivotal moment where your work will have visible impact, working alongside experienced leaders to shape the future delivery of an essential public service supporting vulnerable people across the UK.
