Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Special School
Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant looking for a rewarding permanent role in a specialist setting? This excellent special school in South Birmingham is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team on a permanent basis.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide high-quality support for pupils with a range of special educational needs. You will support students on a 1-2-1 and small group basis, helping them engage with learning, develop confidence and build independence within a structured and nurturing environment.

This role requires previous experience supporting children with special educational needs and ideally a Level 3 Teaching Assistant / LSA qualification. The successful candidate will be patient, proactive and passionate about helping young people succeed.

Job Role:
- Providing 1-2-1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
- Supporting students with learning, communication and social development
- Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
- Helping pupils engage with learning and remain focused
- Promoting independence, confidence and positive behaviour
- Working closely with teachers, therapists and support staff
- Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress and wellbeing
- Contributing to a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
