Costs Team Leader – Medical Negligence | Birmingham | National Firm | Hybrid Working
A leading national law firm is looking to appoint an experienced Costs Team Leader to join its highly regarded Medical Negligence Costs Team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished legal costs professional to take on a leadership role within a nationally recognised practice, overseeing a team responsible for complex, high-value medical negligence matters.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will lead, mentor and develop a team of Trainees, Law Costs Draftsmen and Costs Lawyers, ensuring the delivery of a first-class costs service. You'll provide technical guidance on complex costs issues, oversee the preparation of Bills of Costs and court pleadings, drive quality and consistency across the team and play a key role in improving operational performance and recovery outcomes.
Applications are welcomed from experienced Costs Team Leaders, Senior Costs Lawyers or Law Costs Draftsmen with previous people management experience and a strong understanding of medical negligence or high-value personal injury costs. You will possess excellent knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules, detailed assessment proceedings and costs recovery, alongside the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and manage competing priorities within a fast-paced environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking firm that is committed to investing in its people, offering genuine career progression, high-quality work, flexible hybrid working and an inclusive, supportive culture.
