SEN Teaching Assistant Resource Base

Balsall Heath, Birmingham | Full-Time | Monday to Friday

Are you a caring, patient, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting children with additional needs?

We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Balsall Heath, Birmingham, for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist SEN hub. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly supportive team, making a meaningful difference to the lives of children with complex learning needs.

The Role

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Early finish at 12:30pm every Friday
  • Supporting a small group of pupils within the school's Resource Base
  • Working alongside the class teacher and specialist staff to deliver engaging, personalised learning
  • Providing tailored support to help pupils achieve their individual learning and developmental goals
  • Assisting with personal care where required, ensuring pupils are supported with dignity and respect


The pupils you will support have a range of additional needs, including:

  • Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
  • Non-verbal Autism
  • Complex needs
  • The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • A Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential)
  • A valid Paediatric or Emergency First Aid qualification
  • Experience working within an Early Years setting
  • Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs, particularly Autism and complex needs
  • Confidence supporting children with personal care requirements
  • A calm, nurturing, and patient approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for helping children with additional needs reach their full potential
