Essential Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' management experience within a CQC-regulated adult social care service.
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or Service Manager within Supported Living or Learning Disabilities services.
  • Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs.
  • Proven track record of achieving and maintaining CQC compliance.
  • Experience leading successful CQC inspections.
  • Experience managing safeguarding concerns, investigations and serious incidents.
  • Experience of managing budgets and financial performance.
  • Experience recruiting, supervising, coaching and developing staff teams.
  • Experience managing staff performance, disciplinary and capability processes.
  • Experience working with Local Authorities, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), commissioners and multidisciplinary professionals.
  • Experience implementing quality assurance systems and continuous improvement programmes.
  • Experience managing occupancy, referrals and service development.
  • Experience using electronic care planning and incident management systems.
Essential Qualifications
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (or equivalent).
  • Eligible to register with the CQC as a Registered Manager.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance.
  • Right to work in the UK.
Essential Knowledge
  • Health and Social Care Act 2008.
  • CQC Fundamental Standards.
  • Mental Capacity Act 2005.
  • Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) and the Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS) framework.
  • Safeguarding Adults legislation and procedures.
  • Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
  • STOMP principles (Stopping Over Medication of People with a Learning Disability, Autism or Both).
  • Person-Centred Planning.
  • Risk assessment and positive risk-taking.
  • Medication management.
  • Health and Safety legislation.
  • Equality Act 2010.
  • GDPR and confidentiality.
  • Employment law principles relevant to people management.

  • Medication trainer or competency assessor experience.
  • Knowledge of digital care planning platforms such as Nourish, CarePlanner, PASS, Access Care Planning or similar.
  • Experience sponsoring overseas workers and managing international recruitment.
