We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in South East Birmingham that is looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team from September.
This is a rewarding opportunity to provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
The RoleAs a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and the SEND team to support students with a variety of additional needs, including:
- Social, Emotional and Behavioural needs (SEMH)
- Lower cognitive ability
- Low-level Autism (ASD)
- Dyslexia
- ADHD
- Some students with physical disabilities
- Personal care support (if you are comfortable providing this)
You will play an important role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment while encouraging students to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children or young people with additional needs (school, care, youth work or similar experience is welcomed)
- Is patient, empathetic and resilient
- Can build positive relationships with students and staff
- Is confident supporting students with behavioural, social and emotional needs
- Is comfortable providing personal care where required (desirable but not essential)
- Is committed to helping every student succeed
