Estate Property Maintenance & Compliance Lead
Location: Birmingham based with UK Travel

Lead the Strategy Behind a National Property Estate!
We are partnering with a well-established, multi-site organisation seeking an experienced Estate Maintenance & Compliance Lead to take ownership of repairs, maintenance, compliance, and contractor performance across a large UK property portfolio.
This is a high-impact, strategic role focused on setting standards, driving performance, controlling costs, and ensuring statutory compliance across a diverse estate. Along with managing day-to-day maintenance activities, you will have the opportunity to define what excellence looks like and create the frameworks, governance, and contractor partnerships that deliver it.
The Opportunity:
You will act as the technical authority for the estate, shaping maintenance strategy, improving contractor performance, and ensuring assets are protected for the long term. The role offers significant visibility and influence, working closely with senior stakeholders to improve operational performance and drive value across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and continuously improve the estate-wide repairs and maintenance strategy.
- Act as the escalation point for complex or high-value maintenance issues.
- Establish standards, frameworks, and governance processes to improve consistency and quality.
- Lead the national contractor framework, including performance management and continuous improvement.
- Manage maintenance spend, identify cost drivers, and provide commercial insight to senior stakeholders.
- Ensure statutory compliance across the estate and maintain oversight of inspections, certifications, and remedial actions.
- Conduct condition assessments and identify future maintenance and capital investment requirements.
- Support capital projects with practical operational and technical expertise.
About You:
We're looking for a commercially minded property professional with experience operating across a large, multi-site estate.
You will have:
- Significant experience in senior property, facilities, maintenance, or estate management roles.
- Strong technical knowledge of building maintenance and statutory compliance.
- Experience managing national contractor networks and supplier performance.
- Excellent commercial awareness with responsibility for sizeable maintenance budgets.
- The ability to influence stakeholders across operational and senior leadership teams.
- A proactive, strategic approach combined with a willingness to spend time in the field when required.
Desirable Qualifications:
- MRICS or MCIOB
- Full UK Driving Licence required
