Candidate Responsibilities:
- Manage the engineering control, dimensional accuracy, and setting-out validation for the deconstruction and installation of secondary steelwork and fabric cladding.
- Author, implement, and sign off on detailed Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring all quality handovers meet Network Rail asset standards.
- Review and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and complex Lifting Plans for high-level roof works.
- Actively manage and mentor a small team of Site Engineers, ensuring engineering compliance and personal professional development.
- Supervise and coordinate specialist steelwork and architectural facade subcontractors.
- Manage Temporary Works requirements on-site, ensuring structural stability is maintained at all stages of the deconstruction phase.
- Proven Experience working as Section Engineer for a Tier 1 or leading Tier 2 contractor, ideally on projects valued between £5m-£15m.
- Solid background in structural steelwork modifications, secondary steel installations, or complex facade/cladding systems (experience with fabric/ETFE structures is a major advantage).
- Strong understanding of Temporary Works management (TWC or TWS qualification preferred)
- Degree/HND in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Construction Management (or equivalent experience).
- Valid CSCS card (Gold or Black preferred) and SMSTS.
