Description
- Lead, plan and deliver a range of internal audit engagements across public sector and corporate clients
- Manage end-to-end audit assignments, reporting directly to senior leadership
- Coach and develop junior team members, supporting their progression into well-rounded risk and control specialists
- Take ownership of client relationships, ensuring a high-quality and value-added service delivery
- Monitor budgets, manage project financials and agree fees for assignments
- Contribute to the continued growth of the function through business development activities
- Provide clients with practical insights, recommendations and sector best practice
These responsibilities reflect a role that extends beyond delivery, offering exposure to leadership, client strategy and commercial decision making.
Profile
- Professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIA or equivalent)
- Proven experience managing a portfolio of audit clients across public sector, not-for-profit or corporate environments
- Strong technical internal audit knowledge combined with a commercial mindset
- Experience leading teams and developing junior staff
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels
- Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
- A desire to play an active role in the growth of a business and shape a developing audit function
Job Offer
- Base salary of £50,000 - £54,000 per annum
- Birmingham city centre location with hybrid working (4 days onsite)
