Reed Further Education are currently recruiting for a Brickwork Lecturer to join a well-established further education provider delivering high-quality construction training in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with brickwork experience looking to progress within education or transition from industry.
Role Details
- Job Title: Brickwork Lecturer
- Contract: Permanent
- Hours: 37 hours per week (full time)
- Salary: £27,336 – £42,924 per annum (dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging theory and practical brickwork sessions up to Level 3
- Teach across City & Guilds and NVQ programmes
- Plan, prepare and develop course materials and schemes of work
- Monitor learner progress and support achievement of targets
- Provide academic and pastoral support to students
- Complete assessments, marking and feedback in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate registers, ILPs and tracking documentation
- Manage classroom behaviour, attendance and engagement
- Contribute to internal and external quality assurance processes
- Support enrichment activities, work placements and learner development
Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in Brickwork (City & Guilds or equivalent)
- Teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed/DTLLS/PTLLS) or willingness to work towards
- Experience teaching or training in brickwork/construction
- Strong understanding of FE curriculum and assessment
- Good IT skills and ability to support learner progress tracking
- TAQA Assessor/Verifier qualification (desirable or willingness to obtain)
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain
