Reed Further Education are currently recruiting for a Plumbing Lecturer to join a well-established further education provider in Birmingham delivering high-quality construction and building services training. This is a great opportunity for someone from industry looking to move into teaching or an experienced lecturer seeking a new role.

Role Details

• Job Title: Plumbing Lecturer
• Contract: Permanent
• Hours: 37 hours per week
• Salary: £27,336 – £42,924 per annum (dependent on experience)
• Location: Birmingham

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging theory and practical plumbing sessions up to Level 3
• Teach across plumbing and renewable technology programmes
• Plan and develop schemes of work and learning materials
• Monitor student progress and support achievement of targets
• Provide academic and pastoral support to learners
• Complete assessments, marking and feedback in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate records including registers and ILPs
• Contribute to quality assurance processes and continuous improvement
• Support enrichment activities, work placements and curriculum development

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plumbing or Gas
• Teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed) or willingness to work towards
• Experience delivering training in plumbing or construction
• Knowledge of renewable technologies (e.g. heat pumps, solar) desirable
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain
