Reed Further Education are currently recruiting for a Plumbing Lecturer to join a well-established further education provider in Birmingham delivering high-quality construction and building services training. This is a great opportunity for someone from industry looking to move into teaching or an experienced lecturer seeking a new role.
Role Details
- Job Title: Plumbing Lecturer
- Contract: Permanent
- Hours: 37 hours per week
- Salary: £27,336 – £42,924 per annum (dependent on experience)
- Location: Birmingham
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging theory and practical plumbing sessions up to Level 3
- Teach across plumbing and renewable technology programmes
- Plan and develop schemes of work and learning materials
- Monitor student progress and support achievement of targets
- Provide academic and pastoral support to learners
- Complete assessments, marking and feedback in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records including registers and ILPs
- Contribute to quality assurance processes and continuous improvement
- Support enrichment activities, work placements and curriculum development
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plumbing or Gas
- Teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed) or willingness to work towards
- Experience delivering training in plumbing or construction
- Knowledge of renewable technologies (e.g. heat pumps, solar) desirable
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain
