Reed Further Education are currently recruiting for an Electrical Lecturer to join a well-established further education provider in Birmingham delivering high-quality electrical and building services training. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician looking to move into teaching or a current lecturer seeking a new challenge.

Role Details

• Job Title: Electrical Lecturer
• Contract: Permanent
• Hours: 37 hours per week
• Salary: £27,336 – £42,924 per annum (dependent on experience)
• Location: Birmingham

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging theory and practical electrical sessions up to Level 3
• Teach across City & Guilds courses including 2365/8202 and related electrical qualifications
• Deliver specialist topics such as 18th Edition and inspection & testing
• Plan and develop schemes of work and learning materials
• Monitor student progress and support achievement of targets
• Provide academic and pastoral support to learners
• Complete assessments, marking and feedback in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate records including registers and ILPs
• Contribute to quality assurance processes and continuous improvement

Requirements

• Level 3 Electrical qualification (or equivalent) or significant industry experience
• Teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed) or willingness to work towards
• Experience in electrical installation or training
• Strong understanding of FE delivery and assessment
• Good IT and organisational skills
• TAQA qualification (desirable)
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain
