Solution Architect

Midlands - Hybrid working

Circa £105k (Including Travel Allowance)

We’re looking for an experienced Solutions Architect to help shape the future of our core platform systems. You’ll drive architectural strategy, modernise legacy systems, and support teams in delivering scalable, cloud‑ready solutions

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into clear architectural plans.
• Lead the modernisation of legacy systems into cloud‑based, microservice‑driven solutions.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to development teams.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance scalability and performance.
• Ensure adherence to best practices, governance, and security standards.

Skills & Experience

• Strong background in modern backend technologies (C#, .NET Core, Golang, SQL Server), with the ability to design and evolve complex systems.
• Proven experience architecting cloud‑native solutions on GCP, with a strong understanding of scalable, distributed systems (Will consider AWS/Azure experince)
• Hands‑on expertise with Kubernetes (GKE), Golang, and building resilient microservices architectures.
• Solid experience working with data‑driven systems, including pipelines, event‑driven architecture, and real‑time processing.
• Passion for AI and emerging technologies, with experience (or strong interest) in embedding AI/ML into modern architecture.
• Experience defining and delivering architecture roadmaps, strategy, and vision documents aligned to business goals.
• Strong communication skills, able to engage effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of modern programming paradigms, cloud‑native design, and platform engineering principles.
• Experience leading or mentoring other technical architects or senior engineers, driving technical direction and best practices across teams.
