Paraplanner Team Leader

The Opportunity
An established and forward-thinking wealth management business is looking to appoint a Technical Team Leader to oversee its growing paraplanning and technical function.
This is a key leadership role, ideal for an experienced paraplanner ready to step into management, or an existing team leader seeking a new challenge within a collaborative and high-performing environment.
The Role
You will lead a team of paraplanners and technical specialists, ensuring the smooth delivery of high-quality financial planning support to advisers.
Alongside managing workflow and team performance, you will play a hands-on role in complex case support, technical guidance, and continuous improvement of processes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and develop a team of paraplanners, technical specialists, and junior staff
- Oversee workflow management to ensure tasks are delivered efficiently and within service levels
- Review and sign off complex financial planning reports for accuracy and compliance
- Act as the main escalation point for technical queries from advisers and client service teams
- Support team development through training, mentoring, and performance reviews
- Collaborate with compliance, operations, and senior leadership on process improvements
- Produce and analyse management information to support business decisions
- Maintain high standards of documentation, procedures, and templates
- Assist with paraplanning duties where required, including report writing and technical analysis
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Strong experience in paraplanning within a financial planning or wealth management environment
- Excellent technical knowledge across investments, pensions, tax, and financial planning strategies
- Previous experience in a leadership, mentoring, or supervisory capacity
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
- A strong understanding of FCA regulations and compliance requirements
Desirable (but not essential):
- Diploma in Financial Planning (DipFA or equivalent)
- Experience with industry systems such as Intelligent Office, FE Analytics, or Voyant
