This is a critical interim role, responsible for shaping and delivering a fair, inclusive and sustainable reward strategy that supports workforce performance, engagement and organisational compliance within a large and complex public sector environment.
Description
As Assistant Director of Reward and Recognition, you will:
- Lead the development and delivery of a whole-organisation Reward and Recognition Strategy
- Provide strategic leadership across pay, job evaluation, reward policy and compliance
- Oversee equal pay risk, governance and legislative compliance
- Lead collective bargaining and negotiations with Trade Unions
- Deliver workforce cost modelling and insights to support organisational decision making
- Drive continuous improvement and service excellence across reward and compliance functions
- Act as a trusted deputy to the Director of Industrial & Employee Relations
Profile
We are looking for a senior HR professional who brings:
- Significant experience leading reward, pay or recognition functions at scale
- Strong knowledge of local government/public sector frameworks, including equal pay and job evaluation
- Proven ability to lead transformation and organisational change programmes
- Experience of working with trade unions and managing complex negotiations
- A strategic, analytical and politically astute approach, with the ability to influence at senior level
- CIPD Level 7 (or equivalent experience)
