Our client, Birmingham Children’s Trust, is seeking an agency Team Manager for its Kinship Assessment team.
This post will last 3-6 months initially, paid at £41.42 per hour.

The role will involve the following:
- Kinship Assessment Team Manager within Birmingham Children's Trust's Fostering Service.
The Kinship Assessment Teams undertake kinship assessments and support applicants through the assessment process. - Reporting to the Head of Service for Fostering Assessment and Recruitment, you will be one of four assessment team managers that lead dedicated and experienced teams, providing management oversight and professional support to social workers and senior practitioners.
- You will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality assessments that identify the strengths, needs, and support requirements of kinship carers, helping to create stable, nurturing environments where children can thrive and achieve the best possible outcomes.
- The individual kinship assessment teams consist of 7 Assessing Social Workers, one Senior Practitioner, and a Social Work Assistant.
- The service is well established and known for its supportive and collaborative culture.
- As part of the wider Fostering Management Team, you will join an experienced, permanent leadership group that works closely together and warmly welcomes new colleagues.
- Fostering and or Kinship experience or child in care experience required.
Requirements of the role:
- Qualified Social Worker
- Fully Social Work England registered
- 3 years post-qualified experience in employment of a local authority (DFE rules)
- Must have significant experience working as a team manager in children’s social care
- Must have strong experience in a Fostering and ideally Kinship setting
