Our work is varied, from new stations and footbridges to car parks and feasibility studies, but our purpose is constant: to deliver complex infrastructure projects with care, integrity, and collaboration.
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of the successful delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, typically within the rail sector.
You’ll act as the principal client contact, leading your project team and collaborating with designers, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. · Act as the main client contact throughout the project lifecycle, maintaining open communication and fostering strong, long-term relationships.
· Plan, manage, and monitor design, procurement, and construction stages in line with company procedures and industry standards.
· Identify, assess, and proactively manage project risks and opportunities, securing specialist input where required.
· Provide clear leadership to multi-disciplinary project teams, ensuring alignment on objectives, progress, and safety.
· Ensure all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements are fully integrated into project delivery.
· Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory frameworks including CDM Regulations and HMRI requirements.
· Manage project change control and financial reporting processes, including invoicing and cost reviews.
· Collaborate closely with Engineering Managers and other technical specialists to ensure design and delivery align with client requirements.
· Review and approve key safety and construction documentation (e.g. Construction Phase Plans, Work Package Plans) prior to commencement of works, and monitor compliance during delivery.
· Oversee project close-out, including formal handover, entry into service, and preparation of Health & Safety files.
· Contribute to wider business activities including fee estimates, resource planning, risk management, site inspections, and tender support.
People Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for coordinating a project team, Commercial Manager, Construction Manager, and Field Engineers, providing clear direction, motivation, and development support.
Experience & Skills
· Proven experience delivering complex, multi-disciplinary rail or infrastructure projects such as stations, footbridges, depots, car parks, or feasibility studies.
· Sound understanding of civils, structures, and permanent way disciplines.
· Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience managing both direct reports and external partners.
· Experience working client-side (directly or via co-location/secondment) as part of integrated, multi-organisation project teams.
· Strong stakeholder and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.
· Self-motivated and entrepreneurial, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
