Eventus Legal are seeking a Family Solicitor (NQ – 4 PQE) to join a well-established law firm in Birmingham, West Midlands on a permanent basis. This office-based opportunity is located within South Birmingham and is easily commutable from Kings Heath, Solihull, Moseley, Harborne, Edgbaston, Kings Norton and surrounding areas. Based within the firm's south Birmingham office, this is an excellent opportunity for a Family Solicitor looking to develop their expertise in privately funded family matters while benefiting from ongoing mentoring and a clear progression pathway.

About the Role

This Family Solicitor job offers the opportunity to manage your own caseload of privately funded family law matters while receiving support and guidance from a highly experienced senior lawyer. You will play an important part in delivering exceptional client care during what can often be a challenging period in clients’ lives. The position would suit a Family Solicitor who is confident handling matters independently and is keen to continue developing their technical knowledge and commercial awareness within a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing a varied caseload of privately funded family law matters from instruction through to conclusion
• Providing clear, practical and empathetic legal advice to clients
• Taking ownership of client relationships and maintaining high levels of client care throughout each matter
• Supporting clients through divorce, separation and financial remedy matters
• Advising on child arrangements and parental responsibility issues
• Preparing legal documentation, correspondence and court applications as required
• Identifying opportunities to contribute to the continued growth of the family law department
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure an efficient and high-quality service is delivered
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
• Contributing to the firm's strong reputation for client-focused legal services

About You

You will be a motivated Family Solicitor with experience handling privately funded family law matters and a desire to continue building your career within a supportive and progressive environment. This job would suit someone who enjoys managing their own workload while also benefiting from mentoring and guidance on more complex matters. A compassionate approach combined with strong commercial awareness will be essential.

You should also be able to demonstrate the following:

• Qualified Solicitor with approximately NQ–4 years PQE in family law
• Experience managing a caseload of private family law matters independently
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines effectively
• A proactive approach to managing files and progressing matters efficiently
• Confidence using case management systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Professional and client-focused approach at all times
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of delivering services within a privately funded environment
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally
