Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Birmingham for an International Education Counsellor. The role involves advising international students and professionals on education options, admission requirements, and suitable academic pathways in the U.K. and abroad. The counsellor will conduct one-to-one consultations, assess academic backgrounds and career goals, and recommend appropriate courses, institutions, and residency-related options. Daily tasks include managing inquiries, maintaining accurate client records, supporting application preparation, and coordinating with universities or educational partners. The role also includes delivering information sessions, participating in events, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure a high standard of service and compliance with relevant policies.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Educational Consulting and Education, with the ability to understand academic systems, entry requirements, and program structures.
  • Experience in Student Counseling and Career Counseling, including assessing individual needs, setting realistic goals, and providing ethical, unbiased guidance.
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Prior experience working with international students or in an education, immigration, or advisory setting is highly beneficial.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Cultural sensitivity, professionalism, and a client-centered approach, with the ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality.
