Laboratory Technician | Permanent Role | Birmingham
We are currently supporting a leading organisation within the materials science and chemical solutions sector who are looking to appoint a Technical Service Chemist to join their Birmingham-based laboratory team.
This is a hands-on, varied role combining laboratory analysis, technical problem-solving, and customer support, ideal for a chemistry graduate or early-career scientist looking to develop in an applied industrial environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Carrying out laboratory testing of electroplating and chemical solutions
- Analysing samples and troubleshooting technical issues
- Supporting customers with technical advice on product use and performance
- Preparing and blending chemical formulations from raw materials
- Managing and monitoring precious metal inventories
- Handling ordering and stock control of lab consumables and chemicals
What we’re looking for:
- Degree in Chemistry, Forensic Science, or related discipline
- Strong laboratory experience (industrial, academic, or placement)
- Interest in electrochemistry, surface finishing, or chemical manufacturing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills for customer interaction
- Must have full right to work in the UK
